The Fiesta is Britain's best-selling car, and for good reason. We love the 99bhp version of Ford's 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, but regardless of power choice, the Fiesta is a great car to drive.
It has crisp, accurate steering, taut body control, and changes direction with an immediacy that many a sports car would be proud of. The best news is that because the suspension is so well damped very few jolts find their way into the cabin, so it's a comfortable car to be in.
Ford's commitment to engineering precision is just as evident in the Fiesta's superb driving position and exact control weights. While all the pedals have a consistent feel, the gearshift is slick and supremely accurate. Visual enhancements for 2013 include a prominent trapezoid grille, slimmer lights and upgraded safety kit.
Certainly, there are cheaper and bigger superminis, and others offer more equipment and longer warranties, but none will enrich your life in quite the same way as the Fiesta.
