Braking Systems Series.Part 3: all there is to know about brake pads.

Not all brake pads perform the same. Its performance is dependent on the material used, wear and tear characteristics, road environment, driving styles and type of brake systems. Suffice to say that performance brake pads offer 10 to 20% bite improvement ,optimum pedal feel, good fade resistance, reduced dust and are somewhat resistant to noise and judder. Performance pads are available in several different compounds for either street, track or competition use to ensure optimum and consistent performance for stopping distance and temperature sensitivity. They are built with materials like acrylic fibers, street resins, and other non asbestos materials designed to hold up to both extreme heat and superior friction coefficients.Brake pads are designed to operate best within a prescribed temperature range. They usually last longer than organic OEM materials or aftermarket stock replacement types.
