...to be or not to be...

August Report 2013 2

Pro Ride The Magazine
Publishers and I have established a few key points regarding the feasibility of venturing into this.
1. SWOT Analysis
Strength
Good branding Exercise
Covers Print and Electronic Media
Excellent reach to target market
Strong awareness campaign to key people in government and corporate sector
A good marketing distribution to the youth, working and foreign sector
A strong statement that will change peoples mind set Sapura has left telecommuniactions and now into the ones we re doing
Weakness
Have to sustain losses at first then recover possibly mid 2nd year
But at Salleh Jani’s indicative retail price of RM 700 per ad page, it is unlikely we will ever profit as the break even price for a page ad is RM 1900 before sales of magazine which is a
secondary factor In the exercise
IASB have to commit personnel at quite extensive basis in this venture, I suggest myself to be seconded there being an experienced person in communications and publishing
There will be some slight unfavourable elements of material seeing we are targeting the modern international market, if its strictly factual data churning, stick to our Annual Report please.
Opportunity
With AAMs 300,000 ready market and Sapura’s massively diversed segment, the momentum to soar high and might is favourable
Then a hit of 300,000 in cyberspace, it is quite a powerful tool if monitored intricately
Strong messaging to leaders of the country , we are heading into this direction and that being the only Bumi of non government related player in the industry, we want to be recognized and awarded.
Opportunity to make some money back in our branding exercise
After a good start , IASB  can then carry this on our own
Threat
Being non automotive, Encik Kelana possibly wants ownership seeing the vast potential here to succeed
Probably our mindset up there oppose this mass communication type of venture as selling papers to Sapura is lame and bleak
Possibly IASB s not ready yet into this serious commitment of AnP
You have to let go major weightage of decision making and trust the experts to launch this.
IASB may have to work with more than one party in order this be a reasonable success
There has to be strong collaboration with the other Sapura entities which is not a strong point in our corporate culture.
